Latest News | D&D wins top customer service award | D&D Autos was presented with Kent Invicta Chamber's award for Excellence in Customer Service 2010 at a glittering awards ceremony in Canterbury at the end of March. The awards, which were launched in 2005 and are now recognised as amongst the most prestigious business awards in the county, were presented at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge.
D&D’s entry explained how the family-run garage had bucked the recession in 2009 by moving into a purpose-built new showroom on Ashford’s Orbital Park so that it could offer a wider range of services to its loyal customer base.
The submission pointed out: “The new building offers MOT, servicing and repairs to growing numbers of individuals and fleet owners who find facilities that now match the high quality of customer service that has always been D&D’s number one priority."
It added: "The most significant testimonial to the company’s high level of service is that most of the work comes from word-or mouth recommendations from existing customers."
The award was presented to owner Derek Pestridge (left in picture above) by Richard Watson of Lloyds TSB, the sponsors of the customer service category.
This year’s awards attracted a record number of entrants and were judged by a panel of top names from the county’s business community.
In the flagship Business of the Year category D&D Autos received a special Highly Commended award that was introduced to mark the high standard of entries.
The Awards were made in five categories, Excellence in Customer Service, Excellence in People Development, Most Promising New Business, Entrepreneur of the Year and Business of the Year.
D&D is now hoping to repeat its success in this year’s Kent Excellence in Business (KeiBA) Awards for Customer Service and Commitment and SME Business of the Year.
