D&D Autos is an award-winning, family-owned MOT, servicing and repair business that has built its reputation on providing unbeatable levels of customer care and high quality workmanship.

Renowned for being the 'go-to' garage for those tough auto problems that even other garages don't have the equipment or the expertise to tackle, the business finally received the ultimate recognition in early 2015 when it was crowned Business of the Year in the Kent Invicta Chamber Awards.

Owner Derek Pestridge described winning the award as "the icing on the cake" after 32 years creating a family business that has succeeded by 'going the extra mile'.

The success saw family members celebrating a win in the competition for the third time in just a handful of years. D&D Autos won the Excellence in Customer Service award and was highly commended in the Business of the Year category in 2010, and the following year again won the customer service title.

In 2011, the Moat Way, Orbital Park, Ashford-based garage was also named Garage of the Year by the well-respected Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation, the IAAF.

That award came just two years after the garage proved that ambitious, well-run and customer-focused companies could thrive despite the recession by moving to large, modern, purpose-built premises just as the recession began to bite.

Although brave, the business's move to smart new premises from a collection of buildings in Victoria Road, Ashford was rewarded by an upturn in business that continued throughout the year - and has continued ever since.

The new building offers MOT, servicing and repairs to growing numbers of individuals and fleet owners who find facilities that match the high quality of customer service that has always been a hallmark of the operation. A big investment in specialist diagnostic equipment has allowed D&D Autos to deliver the same service as the main dealers - but with award-winning customer care thrown in.

The company offers MOT testing for cars, vans, motorcycles and motorhomes, servicing, repairs, new tyres, brakes, exhausts and clutches, computerised wheel alignment, air conditioning servicing and repair and fault diagnosis. Moving to the new premises allowed D&D to offer fleet work for light commercial vehicles and motorcycle MOTs and 2015 has seen further investment, this time in performance engine tuning.

A courtesy shuttle service and new courtesy vehicles help customers get to and from the site and the company helps to make collection and delivery of vehicles as simple and headache-free as possible.

Bosch Car Service and the provision of ADR (EU Directive 2013/11/EU)

As a member of the Bosch Car Service network our customer care procedures have always included the provision of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). In short, this means if, in the unlikely event there is a dispute (complaint) which we cannot resolve directly with our customers, we will engage with an independent body (ADR provider) who will recommend a resolution.

Specifically, as a member of the Bosch Car Service network our ADR provider (nationalconciliationservice.com) the National Conciliation Service; this body is audited and certified by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute to provide independent ADR.

In the event that a customer of ours has any concerns or queries, please let us know. There a two reasons for this, firstly we care passionately for our customers and would welcome the opportunity to explore even the slightest concern or query and secondly, ADR is only available providing we have had the opportunity to resolve any issues. In other words, ADR is part of a process but it's not first step in resolving a dispute.

Our business has grown over the years through the strength of our customer reputation and so it is important to us that we maintain the highest standards.

As a result, we are a committed member of the Bosch Car Service Network and have been appointed as a Bosch Car Service Centre. This allows us to keep up to date with the latest diagnostics, test equipment and technical information on new vehicle models.
